Roblox Hack About Game
Roblox CEO David Baszucki, 53, cofounded the San Mateo, based computer gaming platform in 2006. With 12 million users last month, it lets people create their own virtual immersive experiences, like modeling in a fashion show or making pies at a pizza parlor. Users buy virtual currency, called “Robux,” so they can increase their power in the experiences and games. Game creators, who range in age from 14 to 25, get a cut of the payments, and the popular ones can earn as much as $30,000 a month, according to the company. Baszucki, who studied engineering and computer science at Stanford, chose the name Roblox because it combines “robot” and “blocks.” In this condensed and edited interview, Baszucki explains why he thinks the company, which had more than $50 million in revenue last year and employs 170, will be worth billions of dollars.

When you first get a chance to take a look at the online gaming site RoBlox, it’s easy to write the platform off as one of the quickie, watered-down casual game sites that you see on sale in the checkout aisle in WalMart. For savvy gamers, it certainly doesn’t have the amazing curb appeal that we’re used to when compared to the most popular titles on the market. The site looks somewhat childish, but there is a very good reason for that as most of the games created using RoBlox were created by young people. Underneath the MMO gaming exterior, RoBlox is actually a deep game development platform that is geared towards teaching people what it takes to plan and create a successful title.

We’ve been upping the interaction between ourselves and our readers by cultivating articles that encourage collaboration and discussion. We’re pushing that envelope even further with a new, soon-to-be-launched series, where ROBLOX users have the chance to write bylined articles for the blog!
With our Spotlight articles, we focus on users who have built amazing places and games. Our newly-formed Crossfire series gives successful ROBLOX game developers a chance talk about the design and structure of their respective games (we’ve got an exciting edition coming in the near future). This new series will be written by ROBLOX users, and each entry will describe the process of developing a very specific and/or technical aspect of a game, place or model. You can pitch your article idea today by completing this form. Your topic can be anything, but unique and focused ideas stand a much better chance of making the cut. Here are some
-Implementing a map in a survival game
-Using ray casting to simulate physically realistic projectiles
-Creating a custom weapon reload animation
-It’s pretty open-ended–these are just ideas based off games we’ve recently played on ROBLOX. Your goal should be to establish your creative prowess and help other ROBLOX builders who’d like to implement similar features.

What is ROBLOX? ROBLOX is an online virtual playground and workshop, where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. It’s unique in that practically everything on ROBLOX is designed and constructed by members of the community. ROBLOX is designed for 8 to 18-year-olds, but it is open to people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. They can then explore ROBLOX — interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player is also given their own piece of undeveloped real estate along with a virtual toolbox with which to design and build anything — be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer “Capture the Flag” game or some other, yet-to-be-dreamed-up creation. There is no cost for this first plot of virtual land. By participating and by building cool stuff, ROBLOX members can earn specialty badges as well as ROBLOX dollars (“ROBUX”).
